The nodes in the field are green
and swollen. Upon examining samples brought home and allowed to dry, we
see marked differences in oat plants within the crop circle formation
and in standing crop about 100 feet away.

Notice that the nodes of the
formation plants remain so much greener than the standing crop plants.
Both samples were cut at the same time and laid out side by side on newspaper
to dry.
